COVID-19 Update-22 March 2020

Sudbury recently reported its third confirmed cases of CoVID -19; people are being encouraged to observe social distancing as much as is feasible.

Considering these (i.e. COVID -19 Pandemic and reported cases in our community), we are suspending our weekly walk in clinics until further notice. This is aimed at reducing /avoiding community transmission.

Our clinic remains open and we will continue to provide care to our patients by appointments only.

We ask that patients postpone their visit to the clinic and contact public health if, they have cough, sore throat, throat irritation, nasal congestion, fever or runny nose AND recently travelled or had come in contact with someone who returned from the PDAC conference or from a recent (i.e. last 14 days) out of country trip.

COVID-19 Assessment Centre in Sudbury.

On the 13th of March 2020, the Health Science North (HSN), operationalized a COVID-19 Assessment Centre in the North Laboratory 1 area of the HSN-Research Institute located at 56 Walford Road.

Purpose of the COVID-19 Assessment Centre:

1.  Assess and swab (where appropriate) people who may be infected with COVID -19; aimed at diagnosing & reducing number of ER visits.

Assessment at the COVID-19 center is by appointment only.
